Most calls we take start with a question about which service actually applies. These are the four that come up most, answered plainly.
Trimming or pruning?
Trimming is clearance and weight — getting limbs off a roof, out of a driveway, away from a service drop. Pruning is structural: shaping a younger tree so it grows without weak unions. Same tools, different goal.
Pruning or crown reduction?
Pruning removes selected branches. Crown reduction lowers the whole outline of a tree that has simply got too big for its spot, using proper reduction cuts rather than topping it.
Stump grinding or stump removal?
Grinding takes the stump below grade and leaves the root plate in the ground, which is right for lawns and most yards. Full removal extracts the root ball, and you need it when something is being built or planted in that exact spot.
Remove it or save it?
Not every failing tree has to come out. Cabling and bracing can hold a split or co-dominant stem, and health care can turn around a pest or disease problem caught early. A risk assessment tells you which situation you are in before you spend anything.
